Ceramic sculpture by Deserie Dick

9.25″H x 8.5″W x 7″D

Deserie (Des) Dick forms space and manipulates her clay with a meditative speed. She loves mixing color and her artistic expression is freedom personified. She loves to build with inspiration from her garden, using floral themes throughout her pieces. Free-flowing swirls and splashes bob and weave with a flooding current. She has an incredible sense of balance and space as she interlaces her floral forms within her clay sculptures. Her friendly and bright demeanor brings out the brightness of her artistic exploits, with soft colors, curvy shapes and the flowing movement apparent in her work.
Des spends her time away from the Nina volunteering for Edmonton’s Optimism club as well as spending time with her loving husband. With the support of her community, Des has created a beautiful world where her art expresses a deep feeling of thoughtfulness. Her art has been exhibited at SPARK 2018, Calgary’s disability arts festival.
