David Dang begins his day at the Nina by checking on global news, especially those stories related to nuclear arms. David’s drawings and paintings show his fascination with Armageddon and planetary destruction. He has done a series of giant red skulls and experimented with several other icons of calamity and death. In every work, a solitary figure fills the space, substantial and urgent.
David works in drawing and painting as well as print making. He is also a participant in the Nina’s dance program. In 2018 David worked at the Nina’s studio space in the Orange Hub building where he focused on creating a series of large dinosaur apocalypse paintings. One of these paintings is on permanent display in the Edmonton EXPO Centre.
