Mountain Scene by Ashley Chan

Out of stock

Watercolour and coloured pencil on paper.

9.5 x 13 inches

Ashley Chan is an artist working primarily in painting and drawing with some experience in ceramics as well. She often draws inspiration from fragments of multiple reference images and ideas, combining them into a cohesive vision that is all her own.

Ashley embraces the accidental in her work, such as scratches left behind on paper from a coloured pencil, an unintentional artifact that she celebrates as an important detail of the finished piece. As an artist, Ashley is extremely thoughtful and will often revisit a piece many times before declaring it complete.

Exhibiting her art is very important to Ashley. She hopes that viewers will examine her work from both a micro and macro perspective, as she considers the minute details to be just as valuable as the overall image. She has been included in group exhibitions in the Nina’s Stollery Gallery and aspires to continue sharing her work publicly in the future.
