Deserie Dick is a British Columbia born artist currently living and working in Edmonton. She has been coming to the Nina Haggerty Centre for the Arts for one year working primarily in the ceramic studio. She is drawn to flowers and plants and likes to create sculptures of gardens inspired by nature and her surroundings. Deserie also makes ceramic bowls and is interested in religious themes. Her ceramic works come alive withvibrant colours. She says that making art makes her feel happy, she loves coming to the Nina and she enjoys collaborating with other artists or working on special projects with Artistic Director Paul Freeman. Deserie enjoys creating new and interesting works of art and is proud to be exhibited her work in Calgary at the SPARK Disability Arts Festival in 2018.
