Margaret B

About this artist

Margaret B. was born in Yellowknife of the Northwest Territories. She moved to Edmonton at age 17 but only began to explore her artistry many years later and is new to the Nina. Margaret has been working in printmaking, focusing her efforts on monoprint, where she creates beautiful natural landscapes and depicts an array of Canadian wildlife. She always takes great care to work on her pieces slowly, adding layers of paint until they are just right. Margaret also has a love for knitting and clay sculpture, where she aims to diversify her portfolio in the future. Margaret is passionate about her artistic vision and often dreams up her subjects at night. She awakes inspired to bring them to life at the Nina.

In 2020, Margaret received the ATB Emerging Artist Award in recognition of her great commitment and potential as an artist in under two years of joining the Nina Collective.
