Nina Artists in the AFA Permanent Collection

In 2024 the Alberta Foundation for the Arts acquired two works from artists in our collective for their permanent collection: Self Portrait by Aaron Harvey and Bird Vase by Carrie Wheeler.

This brings the total number of Nina Artists represented in the collection to five, with Uli Rossier, Vanessa Ryl, and Mark Traficante’s work acquired in previous years. We are thrilled to celebrate Aaron and Carrie’s acheivement and to see artists with developmental disabilities represented amongst some of Alberta’s most noteable artists in this esteemed collection.

The collection profiles the careers of hundreds of Alberta’s most celebrated and important artists, and includes artworks in a variety of media that reflect the history and development of the province for more than 100 years.
