A pop-up exhibition celebrating the life and art of Decinti Simpson.
Decinti joined the Nina Collective in 2017. She had a natural talent in every medium she worked in and her lively presence in the studio made a big impact on our staff and artists. Our team feels incredibly lucky to have been a part of Decinti’s life and to share her excitement in many artistic accomplishments over the past five years.
Her work was featured in our Marian Allen Kitchen gallery as well as in several group exhibitions in venues such as Kingsway Mall, Brighton Block, Edmonton City Centre, and our Stollery Gallery. A large reproduction of her painting “Fall Leaves” is on permanent exhibition in the Edmonton EXPO Centre where it is seen by over a million visitors each year. Her “Tiger” painting was included in the Edmonton Arts Council’s “Art in Transit” public exhibition and can be seen at the Kingsway/Royal Alex LRT Station.
