The Centre for Autism Services Alberta’s visual art programs for children, teens, and young adults allow aspiring artists with Autism Spectrum Disorder to bring their ideas to life through a variety of media. Led by instructors from the Nina Haggerty Centre for the Arts, our artists develop skills in drawing, painting and ceramics, and explore digital media and animation.
This year’s exhibition will feature artwork from our talented program participants:

Fun with Art program (ages 7-12)
Derek, Liam R, Liam H, Allie, Syree, Sasha, Iain, Lucas, Issak, Fatima, Sameer

Exploring Art program (ages 13-17)
Marcus, Ethan R., William, Jacob, Ethan Y., Owen, Ella, Max, Kiki, Mustafa, Jacob, Matteo, Matthew, Alistair, Amir, Sam

Creative Expression program (ages 18-29)
Naomi, Emily, Paul, Zach, David, Mathieson, Conner, Pablo, Chris, Edgar

With each piece of work completed by our talented artists, a stepping stone is forged and uplifts the artist’s self-esteem. As artists walk along their path of creativity, more stepping stones of self-awareness are created. Through this interaction with art, social awareness is heightened and the community begins to become more inclusive. Stepping Stones aims to help create a stronger community for children, teenagers and adults with autism.
