Aba Garbrah’s ‘Muttart Conservatory’ mural a

Aba Garbrah’s ‘Muttart Conservatory’ mural at @atb.place is also finished! Aba used photos she took while visiting the @muttartconservatory as inspiration for this vibrant 8 x 8 foot painting, which took many hours to complete.

You can visit this botanical masterpiece downstairs in the food court of ATB Place on Jasper Ave and 100 Street in #YegDt.

The Nina Haggerty Centre for the Arts is accepting applications for our 2024 RBC Emerging Artists Program. This exciting opportunity is open to visual artists in the early stages of their artistic careers.

The program takes place over 14 weeks (4 hours per week) from May to August, 2024. Six successful applicants will:

- gain valuable experience and skills while working alongside the Nina Collective of artists with developmental disabilities

- participate in professional development panels led by experienced career artists

- show their work in group exhibitions in the Stollery Gallery and City Centre Mall

Mark Traficante’s ‘K-Days’ mural is complete

Mark Traficante’s ‘K-Days’ mural is complete at @atb.place! Painted onsite in the food court, this is Mark’s largest painting to date. Mark chose K-Days to represent what he loves about Edmonton, complete with an @avrillavigne concert, security guards, and fireworks.

Check it out downstairs at ATB Place on 100 St and Jasper Ave.

Huge thank you to @triovest and @atb.place for commissioning this piece and supporting local artists!

Congratulations to our 2024 Artist of the Year, Aaron Harvey, on his first solo exhibition! The gallery was packed last night for the opening reception of ‘Animal City’. The show will be up until March 30th, be sure to stop by!

🥳 We’re celebrating the opening of Aaron Harvey’s Artist of the Year exhibition AND the Nina’s 21st birthday this Thursday, February 29th from 6-8pm!

‘Animal City’ is Aaron Harvey’s first solo exhibit, showcasing the bright colours and wavy lines he is known for in a number of mediums, from drawings to fused glass mosaics.

Like the duck says, Aaron Harvey is the 2024 Artist of the Year! His first solo exhibition opens on Thursday, February 29th with a reception from 6-8pm. Showcasing the distinctive linework and bright, solid colours that he is known for, this show features many mediums including painting, drawing, fused glass, and more.

We will be celebrating the Nina’s 21st birthday on February 29th as well, so be sure to stop by!

Thank you to everyone who joined us last Friday at The Nina After Hours! If you weren’t able to make it there’s still time to stop by and do your holiday shopping. There are so many great pieces of original artwork still available, plus lots of stocking stuffers like pins, socks, and greeting cards!

We are open our regular hours until Wednesday, December 20.

This lovely little family of reindeer by Chris Cli has settled in our gallery and is ready to greet guests at our holiday show and sale next week!

Chris is a Dene artist who has been a member of the Nina Collective since 2021. His original paintings will be on display alongside work by over 200 local artists with disabilities next Friday, December 8th during The Nina After Hours from 5-9PM. We hope to see you there!
